MAMMUT BIOCENTRUM

Last autumn we opened to the public the Mammut Biocentrum, which offers diverse organic products in about 600m² of retail space on level 1 of the Mammut I building, between the market place in Fény Street and the shopping center.  

The 4 specialized retail units of the Biocentrum allow health-conscious customers to save time and energy, while choosing from a uniquely wide selection of products available at a single location. The Mammut Biocentrum is accessible in an easy and barrier-free manner on foot from level 1 of Mammut I and from the market place in Fény Street, and by motorists from the covered parking located next to the shop area.    

Bioritmus – organic shop

The supermarket offers – among others – dairy products of domestic and foreign food farmers, but there is also a unique selection of DEMETER-controlled biodynamic baby products, and customers are spoiled for choice with fresh baker's ware daily. Also the products of the largest German meat packing plant, which omits the application of nitrite dry-cure mixtures, are represented in the wide selection of domestic and imported processed meat products. Mothers can choose from a fine selection of biodynamic Demeter-quality baby food products., which is unique in Hungary, including a wide range of organic pastas, oils, spices, and canned food. To make the variety of goods complete, we also have to mention the wide choice of teas, whole and ground Arabica and Robusta coffees, cereal coffees, natural and instant cocoa powders, as well as the vegetable and fruit juices, squashes, concentrates, and organic wine and beer. Even the sweets are healthier in the Bioritmus shop: a fantastic selection of sugar-free and organic sweets lures customers, and a wide variety of alternative sweeteners are also available.  

Bóbita – Eco-drugstore

The Biocentrum has its own drugstore that offers natural cosmetic and beauty care products made of organic ingredients. Diverse facial, body, and hair care products make up the selection of the drugstore, including a good assortment of natural toilet products and bio-degradable detergents.    
                              

Why use organic natural cosmetics?  

-   Natural cosmetics are products made of natural ingredients from organic farms, which contain only basic components not damaging to health.  
-   Such products do not contain any synthetic, chemical, or allergenic additives (preservatives, emulgators, colorants, or odorants), and – in contrast to other cosmetics – they do not trouble the skin and the organism. In fact, they are conductive to their regeneration.  
-   The active ingredients of natural beauty care products stimulate the self-healing power of the skin, promote its healthy and balanced functions, and help to create and maintain skin-balance. 
-   Substances that are related to animal testing are excluded from the production of these products. 
-   The applied vegetable raw materials are from organic farms or collected in protected eco-fields.  
-   Only natural agents are used for preservation.
-   They are recommended for every skin type, even for sensitive skin.

Why is the use of biodegradable detergents recommended?
-   They cause only minor damage to live waters and the environment.
-   It is guaranteed that skin-friendly detergents are free of enzymes and are safe for allergy patients.    
-   They don’t contain any kind of synthetic preservatives, odorants or colorants. 

Bio Garden

The 70m² vegetable and fruit shop within the Mammut Biocentrum attracts customers with fresh products daily. In addition to the high-quality vegetables that are produced by Hungarian farmers, we import fruits unavailable in Hungary, so as to provide a wider choice. Many freshly pressed organic juices, seeds, dried fruits, lettuce, and sprouts are also available. Products are also tested by Biokontroll Hungária.   

Things you should know about organic fruit and vegetables:
-   Although organic fruit and vegetables look the same as the non-organic ones, they taste differently. Due to the rich and more intense flavour, we do not only taste water as in the case of GM foods, but also
     the pure savor of tomato or grapes.
-   Their vitamin content is higher; contain more minerals and trace elements, but less heavy metal. 
-   They are produced under controlled conditions, and do not contain any artificial fertilizers or synthetic and toxic substances. 
-   Only natural agents, approved for eco-farms, are used to spray plants for protection, which are not absorbed by plants and can be easily washed away by water.  
-   As they are low on remnants of pesticides and contain only a negligible amount of additives, the consumption of such foods materially increases the detoxicating capacity of our bodies.  

Batyu – organic restaurant 

Here every dish is made of organic raw materials, and we offer meals three times a day. We offer our customers scrambled eggs, eggplant cream on toast, and pastries for breakfast. At lunchtime, we sell sandwiches, salads, and cold or warm pack-lunches. Those, who have more time, can choose from the vegetable dishes, one-course meals or even grilled steaks. Those, who have a sweet tooth, can enjoy organic and reform pastries, and customers are welcome to quench their thirst with organic beer or wine, or can visit our eco-coffee shop and have a cup of premium quality organic coffee.
